Cecil R. Reynolds, PhD, ABPN, earned his doctorate from the University of Georgia in 1978 under Dr. Alan S. Kaufman. He taught at the University of Nebraska where he was a leader of the Buros Institute of Mental Measurement. He served on the faculty of Texas A & M University from 1981 to his retirement in 2008 as professor of educational psychology and neuroscience. His primary research interests are in all aspects of psychological assessment with particular emphasis on assessment of memory, emotional and affective states and traits, and issues of cultural bias in testing. He is the author of more than 300 scholarly publications and author or editor of over 50 books including The Clinician’s Guide to the BASC, Handbook of School Psychology , and the Handbook of Clinical Child Neuropsychology. He is the author of the Behavior Assessment System for Children and the Revised Children's Manifest Anxiety Scale. He is also senior author of the Reynolds Intellectual Assessment Scales (RIAS) and the Test of Memory and Learning.
Learning Objectives - By the end of the workshop participants will:
1. Be able to describe the rationale and level of empirical support for Response to Intervention (RTI) as a means of addressing learning disabilities
2. Be able to describe ongoing issues with implementation of RTI in real-world contexts
3. Be familiar with the psychometrics, administration, and interpretation of the RIAS and CTMT
4. Be able to describe the nature of and reasons for IQ profile analysis failure
