About Dr. Karen Teelin

I am currently an Associate Professor of Pediatrics and the Director of Adolescent Medicine at SUNY Upstate Medical University Norton College of Medicine and the Golisano Children’s Hospital. We have a consultation clinic serving health needs of adolescents from throughout our catchment area. I am board certified by the American Academy of Pediatrics, and joined the faculty at SUNY Upstate after completing an Adolescent Medicine fellowship at Golisano Children’s Hospital in 2013. In addition to caring for patients, I focus on education of the next generation of pediatricians and on research and writing. My publications concentrate on resident training in adolescent gynecology and include a recent publication on conscientious objecting to providing gender health care in a pediatric training context.
